CROSSHOLE SEISMIC TOMOGRAPHY

With the advent of a new generation of computers, fast and more effective, seismic tomography has gained popularity. As regards conventional Crosshole test, there is only one ray path considered for each shot. In Crosshole Tomography, multiple ray paths are considered for each shot. As a result, the tomogram not only delineates vertically, it also has horizontal variations in velocity. This important feature is the main advantage of Crosshole Tomography over convention Crosshole Test.
